A 400-foot roll of 16mm film was run back and forth through the camera numerous times to create an organically layered, unedited montage. Often exposing only parts of the frame at a given time, the technique creates a striking collage of imagery related to Air, Earth, Fire and Water. Based primarily on this film, which was made while a film student at the University of Texas at Austin, Alex got his first work as a cinematographer in New York at MTV.
